SEO Team Leader – Sydney

As an SEO Team Leader, you’ll be the driving force behind your designated team, inspiring and motivating them to deliver measurable results for our clients. Alongside leading your team, you will stay hands-on by managing and maximising outcomes for your own individually assigned SEO campaigns and enterprise accounts.

Your day-to-day might include:

Team Management:

• Leading and coaching a team of SEOs, helping them achieve their personal and professional goals. 
• Overseeing campaign performance by using tools like HubSpot and Monday to manage workloads, billable hours, and quality of output. 
• Conducting performance reviews and creating development plans to promote succession planning and team growth. 
• Strategically managing resources and account assignments to maximise campaign efficiency and team balance. 
• Sharing insights with leadership, working closely with the Head of Operations and Head of SEO Performance to refine internal processes. 

Client Management:

• Managing client relationships directly, to understand their goals and craft strategies that deliver results, without the bureaucracy of a traditional account manager.
• Executing SEO campaigns through technical work, strategies, content briefing, as well as coordinating with other specialists within StudioHawk such as content writers, offsite, PR.
• Presenting insights and results to clients, helping them understand the “why” behind every move.

Must haves:

• Located in Sydney, Australia (based in our Eveleigh office). 
• 3+ years of experience in an SEO environment or similar.
• Proven leadership experience in a management role, with a knack for getting the best out of people. 
• Expertise in client and stakeholder management, with a track record of building lasting professional relationships. 
• Demonstrated experience in advising and implementing SEO strategies that drive measurable organic growth.
• Hands-on expertise with SEO tools (e.g., SEMrush, Google Search Console, GA4, GTM).
• Strong communication skills used to manage a team, budgets, KPIs, and complex client relationships.

Salary & Compensation:

We believe in transparency – here’s what this role offers:

• Base salary: AUD $90,000 to $100,000 + superannuation (depending on experience & technical ability)
• We believe in rewarding hard workers, not just giving them more stuff to do with nothing in return. Bonus/performance incentives tied to client outcomes and workload.
