About The Role

The SEO Content Editor will be responsible for editing, optimizing, and maintaining G2’s in-house SEO content to ensure it meets high editorial standards, aligns with G2 brand voice, and performs well in organic search.

This role focuses on execution and quality control. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and comfortable working closely with writers and SEO stakeholders to improve content clarity, accuracy, and search performance.

In This Role, You Will: 

 Editorial Editing & SEO Optimization

  • Edit internally produced SEO content, including blogs, category pages, comparisons, and long-form guides.

  • Perform line, structural, and light developmental edits for clarity, accuracy, flow, and usefulness.

  • Optimize content for search intent, keyword usage, internal linking, headings, and metadata in collaboration with SEO strategy.

  • Ensure content adheres to G2’s editorial standards, brand voice, and on-page SEO best practices.

  • Make direct edits in the CMS (HubSpot) as needed.

Content Quality & Standards

  • Apply G2’s editorial and SEO style guides consistently across all assigned content.

  • Fact-check content and ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency.

  • Maintain content hygiene by fixing outdated references, broken links, or formatting issues.

  • Flag content quality issues, gaps, or inconsistencies to writers or SEO leads.

  • Support content QA processes, including AI-assisted drafts.

Collaboration & Workflow

  • Work closely with SEO strategists and content writers to refine drafts before publication.

  • Provide clear, actionable editorial feedback to writers.

  • Support efficient content workflows and meet editorial deadlines.

  • Supporting and collaborating with the SEO team and other editors building AI-assisted editing systems to increase team’s efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications:

  •  2–4 years of experience in content editing, SEO content, or content marketing.

  • Familiarity with AP style editing and its best practices

  • Some experience with SaaS or B2B tech content preferred.

  • Strong editing and proofreading skills with excellent grammar and attention to detail.

  • Working knowledge of SEO fundamentals and search intent.

  • Familiarity with SEO tools such as Semrush, Ahrefs, Google Analytics, or Google Search Console. Escalate performance concerns or optimization opportunities to SEO leads, when observed.

  • Comfortable editing content directly in a CMS (HubSpot preferred).

  • Ability to manage multiple edits and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
