SEO Director
PEPL has been engaged to place a Strategic SEO Director for a growing insurance agency in Atlanta, Georgia.  This leader will own the company’s organic search strategy and performance. This role blends strategic leadership with data-driven analysis to achieve high visibility in search rankings. The Head of SEO will coordinate across content, technical, and off-page initiatives (including managing external SEO agencies) to drive high-intent traffic that converts into revenue.

Must-Have Experience & Traits:
    • Analytical & Data-Driven: Strong ability to interpret SEO data (traffic, rankings, conversions) and derive actionable insights. Comfortable with analytics tools (Google Analytics, Search Console, etc.) and using data to make decisions.
    • Technical SEO Knowledge: Hands-on experience with technical SEO (site architecture, crawlability, schema, page speed) to identify and guide fixes. Able to conduct in-depth SEO audits of content, site structure, and backlink profile.
    • Strategic Leadership: Proven ability to develop and oversee comprehensive SEO strategy aligned with business goals. Experience managing or coordinating SEO teams or agencies, with excellent communication and leadership skills.
    • Off-Page SEO & Outreach: Familiarity with link-building and digital PR strategies – knows how quality backlinks impact rankings and can leverage external agencies for outreach and link acquisition (must be conversant in white-hat link-building tactics).
    • Agency & Cross-Functional Coordination: Experience collaborating with external content or marketing agencies and internal teams (content, product, engineering). Able to maintain relationships with partners/agencies to support SEO efforts.
    • AI-Centric Mindset: Up-to-date on AI trends in search (e.g. Google’s SGE, Bing’s AI) and skilled at using AI tools to scale SEO efforts. Embraces automation and AI (for keyword research, content outlines, etc.) to amplify output without sacrificing quality.
Good to Have:
    • Industry Knowledge: SEO experience in Fintech, Insurance or other highly competitive YMYL (Your Money Your Life) industries, understanding E-E-A-T principles and compliance in content.
    • CRO/UX Awareness: Understanding of user experience and conversion optimization, ensuring SEO traffic is met with compelling on-site experiences that drive quotes/sign-ups.
    • Advanced SEO Tools: Mastery of SEO suites (SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz, Similarwebs) and technical tools (screaming Frog, log analyzers). Comfortable with Excel/Python for data analysis, and perhaps basic HTML/CSS for SEO purposes.
Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in growing organic traffic and rankings in competitive markets and converting that traffic into leads/sales. For example, a history of implementing SEO strategies that significantly increased search visibility and revenue. Ideally, has led a company to top rankings for high-value keywords, with year-over-year traffic and conversion growth. Evidence of past wins (case studies, before-and-after metrics) will be expected.
