Role Summary and Impact

Wavemaker Global (part of WPP Media) are looking to add a new member to their team. We are looking for someone to support the SEO Account Director in managing our leading global FMCG client with the support of Account Executives and as part of a larger SEO and GSO team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the strategic direction, meeting all team deliverables and ensuring client’s expectations are exceeded. The candidate will:

  • Be an integral part of a team of 6+ specialists focused on driving SEO performance for our international clients, as part of larger SEO and GSO team of ~25 within the UK.
  • Help WPP Media to realise its ambition to be its client’s most trusted and valued business partner.
  • Highly confident and articulate manager responsible for the smooth running of their accounts day-to-day.
  • Build fantastic working relationships with colleagues in other disciplines within the agency, including paid teams, to ensure an integrated approach to marketing campaigns.
  • Investing and building fantastic working relationships with a range of other media disciplines (particularly Paid Performance, Content and Social) to ensure an integrated approach to marketing campaigns.

Core responsibilities:

CLIENT MANAGEMENT

  • Main day-to-day contact with clients, demonstrating an enterprising and pro-active attitude to all client dealings.
  • Ensure all client requests are met and surpassed in a timely, professional, and efficient manner, with client expectation managed effectively.
  • Work closely with the Account Director to understand and proactively manage client short, medium, and long-term objectives and expectations.

TEAM MANAGEMENT

  • Contribute to the development of the WPP Media SEO proposition, coming up with new ideas and solutions, inspiring other team members with your interests and expertise, and continually deepening the team’s understanding of the search landscape.
  • Responsible for accuracy and quality of work being produced by your team in relation to clients under your supervision.

Skills and Experience

SKILLS

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with high attention to detail.
  • Passion for client service.
  • Workflow management, delegation and prioritization.
  • Positive, dynamic and motivational management skills.
  • Strategic thinking including evaluation of key trends and client results data.
  • Highly motivated to innovate and develop a world class proposition in organic search and content.

In order to deliver on the above, WAVEMAKER would require the candidate to possess:

  • 3+ years within SEO/GSO related roles, including experience of management positions and team development.
  • Highly experienced in all aspects of SEO,GSO and supporting disciplines; including technical/on-site optimisation, off-site optimisation, PR, content creation, accessibility and usability.

Desired experience/skills but not essential

  • European language skills.
  • Experience working within an agency.
  • Experience and proven success in managing people.
  • Experience of activating other digital marketing channels.
