Job Description :

#MV-LI1

Your role

This is a senior leadership role for an experienced SEO professional who can own a complex account from strategy through to delivery. You will define how search drives commercial growth — setting priorities, shaping content direction, and coordinating multiple specialist teams to make it happen.

You will be collaborating with the Senior SEO Lead on the account day-to-day. You will help them set the tone, make calls, and take accountability for outcomes. This is not a hands-off coordination role — you will bring genuine depth across content strategy, technical SEO, and client management, and you will use that expertise to lead teams who trust your judgement.

What’s in it for you?

  • Senior strategic ownership — shape how search drives commercial outcomes on a high-profile account, with real autonomy and accountability

  • Cross-disciplinary exposure — work alongside data analysts, CX strategists, developers, and performance media experts

  • Direct client impact — build relationships with senior stakeholders and see your strategy deliver results at scale

  • Shape the future of search — work at the intersection of SEO, content, AI discovery, and digital PR as the search landscape evolves

What You'll Do

SEO Strategy & Account Direction

  • Develop and own the SEO strategy across technical, content, and brand workstreams in collaboration with the Account Lead

  • Translate business objectives into prioritised, commercially framed SEO programmes

  • Identify market opportunities through competitor intelligence, keyword landscape analysis, and audience demand signals

  • Anticipate algorithmic and industry shifts — particularly around AI-driven discovery — and adapt strategy proactively

  • Lead strategic reviews and present with clarity and confidence to senior stakeholders

Content Strategy & Editorial Leadership

  •  Own the content strategy: topic prioritisation, keyword mapping, content type mix, and editorial direction

  • Lead keyword research and content architecture decisions to ensure the site structure supports — not undermines — rankings

  • Commission and QA content briefs to a high standard, ensuring every piece has a clear search and commercial rationale

  • Oversee blog and editorial content performance  identifying what to optimise, consolidate, or retire

  • Ensure content investment is grounded in real demand data, not assumptions or internal preferences

  • Guide the content team with a strong editorial perspective: you know what good looks like and are not afraid to push back

Client & Account Management

  •  Lead day-to-day client communication with authority and clarity — proactive, not reactive

  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with senior client stakeholders

  • Translate SEO performance into commercial narratives — connecting rankings and visibility to revenue outcomes

  • Manage client expectations through migrations, algorithm changes, and periods of strategic transition

  • Present strategies, roadmaps, and performance reviews with confidence at a senior level

  • Identify opportunities to grow the scope and value of the engagement over time

Technical SEO Oversight

  • Provide strategic oversight of technical SEO workstreams: audits, crawl health, indexation, and site architecture

  • Lead SEO input into website migrations — from recommendations through to pre- and post-launch checks

  • Own the international SEO approach: market prioritisation, hreflang strategy, and localisation requirements

  • Ensure technical recommendations are clearly communicated to developers and correctly implemented

Performance Measurement & Reporting

  • Define KPIs that connect SEO performance to the client's commercial objectives

  • Oversee the data infrastructure: GA4, GSC, SEMrush, Ahrefs, and dashboard platforms

  • Produce and present performance reports that deliver insight and recommended actions — not just data

  • Ensure SEO and PPC teams are aligned to avoid cannibalisation and maximise combined search presence

What you bring

  • 5–6 years of SEO experience, with at least 2 years at a senior level on complex or high-value accounts

  • A strong content strategy background — you have shaped editorial programmes, not just briefed individual pieces

  • A track record of managing senior client relationships, including leading difficult conversations and presenting to commercial decision-makers

  • Experience coordinating multiple teams simultaneously — developers, writers, agencies — without having direct management authority over all of them

  • The ability to move between strategic thinking and detailed execution — you can write a strategy deck and review a technical audit in the same week

  • Commercial fluency: you frame SEO outcomes in terms of business impact, not just search metrics

  • Strong working knowledge of GA4, GSC, SEMrush, and Ahrefs — enough to build reporting infrastructure and interrogate data independently

  • Clear, confident written and verbal communication — your briefs are clear, your presentations compelling, your client updates proactive

  • Proactive and self-directed: you read the account, identify what matters most, and make it happen without being chased

  • Familiarity with AI-driven search and LLM brand perception — how brands appear in generative search results and how to influence it

Contract Type :

Permanent
