Local SEO Specialist

1-800-GOT-JUNK? is looking for a Local SEO Specialist to join our growing team on a 10 month contract (with potential option of renewal).

As a Local SEO Specialist, you’ll be responsible for optimizing all things local SEO, including location pages, GBP, Yelp, and other citations. Your experience and expertise with local SEO will directly improve organic and local rankings, traffic, and online revenue for our franchises across the US, Canada, and Australia. Using a variety of tools, you will identify local SEO opportunities, audit on-page content and technical elements, enhance off-page local SEO, and track results. You should be up-to-date with the latest SEO and digital marketing trends and have a proven background in successful local SEO optimizations.

🏢 HYBRID WORK ENVIRONMENT

Vancouver-based team members work in-office every other week (Tues–Thurs). Core attendance is required from 9 AM – 3 PM on these days to support business priorities.

💼 A DAY IN THE LIFE

• Conduct local keyword research for franchise locations across North America and Australia
• Develop local content strategies with research from local franchise operations, population data, and regional opportunities to improve engagement metrics
• Optimize local on-page technical SEO elements such as meta tags, XML sitemap priority, and schema for local search
• Optimize and manage GBP listings
• Manage citation accuracy via our syndication tool
• Measure, analyze, and communicate performance with stakeholders

🎯 WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE 

• 2+ years of experience
• Proven experience in local SEO improving local pack and organic rankings
• Expertise in keyword research, content optimization, internal linking, and technical SEO
• Bonus: Experience with JSON-LD structured data (schema)
• Proficiency in managing GBP listings
• Bonus: Experience with Service Area Businesses & service area optimization
• Strong understanding of local citation management and its impact on local SEO
• Confident with measuring, documenting, and communicating test results
• Bonus: Link building

💰 COMPENSATION 

• $40.00 - $45.00 per hour (Actual per-hour rate offered will be commensurate with education, experience and internal parity).
