Black Duck is seeking a Blog and Content SEO Manager to drive our strategic objectives. 

The Blog and Content SEO Manager owns the day-to-day strategy, execution, and metrics of the Black Duck blog. S/he works with stakeholders across the organization to ensure the blog is optimized as a key channel for strategic initiatives and objectives. The successful candidate will be experienced in editing, publishing, and managing a global B2B tech blog, including aligning topics and posts to overall marketing and content strategy; driving KPIs including SEO, engagement, and conversion metrics; managing and identifying new and existing contributors; maintaining blog publication processes, and measuring success. S/he is data driven with a successful track record of growing KPIs, including visitors, subscribers, engagement, and conversion metrics. S/he brings an ownership mentality balanced with exceptional collaboration skills. 

SEO expertise is critical for this role. The successful candidate has previous success in improving SEO metrics through content-driven approaches, including keyword optimization, EEAT principles, evergreen content refreshes, and optimizing for search intent criteria. S/he understands the evolving nature of search and can keep abreast of changing criteria to ensure consistent and long-term growth of the blog.  

Key Responsibilities: 

• Manage day-to-day operations of global B2B tech blog 

• Act as managing editor of the blog and be its key internal advocate 

• Create blog strategy, plans, and tactics that align with marketing and business goals 

• Develop, drive, and collaborate with others to implement SEO strategies across digital properties 

• Leverage SEO best practices to improve organic traffic to blog posts 

• Create and measure blog KPIs aligned with marketing and business objectives 

• Create and communicate reports and post-mortems with a focus on data and key insights 

• Maintain blog calendar to ensure coverage across product portfolio, buyer’s journey, personas, pillar topics, and subject matter experts 

• Maintain a clear and transparent process for ideation, submission, editing, and publishing to the blog 

• Collaborate with team members across content, digital, social, PR, brand, demand gen, product marketing, and others to ensure blog is optimized for every function and stakeholder 

Knowledge & Skills: 

• 5+ years of experience in B2B blog management 

• Content SEO expertise, including EEAT, keyword density, metadata, content titling and headers, etc. 

• Technical SEO expertise, including canonical URLs, URL structure, directory structures, etc. 

• Expertise in optimizing content for GenAI search results, including planning and advising on GEO (generative engine optimization) and other strategies 

• Working knowledge of page performance criteria, such as image optimization, internal linking, backlinking, load speed, etc., and its impact on SEO 

• Proficiency with Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMRush and related tools 

• Data driven – both in analyzing blog performance against KPIs and communicating results and strategies. Experience with Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics a plus. 

• Excellent written and oral communication skills – able to write, edit and speak persuasively 

• Excellent analytical and organizational skills – able to make editorial decisions based on data, and prioritize tasks, publishing dates, topics, etc., accordingly 

• Detail oriented – able to edit copy and manage multiple projects simultaneously 

• Ownership mentality – own the strategy, execution, and metrics of a global B2B blog 

• Collaborative, open working style – able to build relationships with various groups and personalities across cultures and geographies 

• Proficient user of content marketing systems and publishing tools 

• Bachelor’s degree in technology, marketing, technical writing, communications, or related field 

Desired Skills & Experience 

• Experience in global B2B technology environments

The base salary range across the U.S. for this role is between $85,200-$127,800. In addition, this role is eligible for commission. Black Duck offers a competitive total rewards package. The actual compensation offered will be based on a number of job-related factors, including location, skills, experience, and education.
